Why is UEE so prevalent?

I see the vast majority of people with at least some upper eyelid exposure, both men and women. A not insiginifcant number of them are completely ruined by their bug eyes. I have complete hooding with very deep set eyes but I still got fucked because of recessed infraorbitals and dark circles. Why do so many people have this trait? It makes them look completely ogre.
