Why its so painful going to failure from a lighter weight

When i use heavy weight i reach failure early and no pain but when i lift lighter weight so i do more reps and after certain amount of reps the pain is immense due to pump and even though i dint reach failure i have to stop
 
Because of lactic acid build up

So which one is more effective
What's your goal? maxing out at 4-6 reps is best for strength, maxing out at 8-12 reps is best for hypertrophy and maxing out at 20+ reps is best for endurance

But anyways its going to failure with any weight u lift but as u go lighter the pain increases so cant reach muscle failure but it feels more effective cause of pain
 
It's because you need to EAT something lol.
