Why levobunolol wont work for eye lightening (cope destroyed) | Rope time

So I got levobunolol and been using it for a few weeks no changes obviously but I decided to actually do more research on it and whether it even in theory could work on me.

What levobunolol basically does is it’s a beta blocker which downstream blocks melanin production. This isn’t very controversial. The problem with trying to “lighten eyes” that most people don’t realize is that eye lightening isn’t about stopping new melanin production. That may be how skin works but not eyes. Your eyes don’t have a renewal cycle so when it creates pigment that shit will be on your eyes forever. That’s why it’s common for blue eyes to get slightly darker or develop brownness but you rarely will get lighter color eyes as you age (unless you have a injury or exposed to some toxins and the stars align)

In order for ur eyes to actually lighten what has to happen isn’t melanin production stopping what needs to happen is the melanin already on ur eyes to fully break down and clear

This is why laser eye depigmentation works permanently even though you only do it once


As of right now there is no really safe way to break down eye melanin as it’s extremely stable. Even eye laser surgery leads to the melanin cells breaking down and clogging up pores and adding more pressure to eyes (and possibly glaucoma). My theory for why those patients who actually did lighten their eyes from levobunolol is that since they were old their eye melanin was aged and degraded so when they took levobunolol the new melanin production ceased revealing their aged melanin on their eyes

When people with dark brown eyes get laser depigmentation they usually just get dark grey eyes, and for many people the eyes get darker (they don't go back to brown tho), from what you researched, do you think that using levobunolol for awhile and then getting the laser depigmentation, or using it after the depigmentation can help with getting a better color or maintaining the color that you got?
