Rap, street culture, and urban slang =/= Black culture. People copy what they like because it resonates with them in some way.Rap is just strong beats, clever wordplay, and stories of struggle in the urban jungles. It reflects personal taste not in anyway shape or form a tribal loyalty tes

Rap also has huge variety, it is not all violence. Some drill and trap tracks do glorify killing opps but There's also rap from Nas, Biggie, OutKast Kendrick that focus on life, ambition, skill, and pain. This is the rap I like

Saying rap is just violence is like claiming all rock is about satanism Fans just enjoy the art without endorsing every lyric

Also Music is art Nothing more nothing less and nothing else. It crosses borders. european artists that embraced jazz and blues didn't turn into niggers overnight. Humans borrow and remix and you can still criticize toxic glorification of violence in the lyrics while respecting talent and impact. Art is art and art stands on its own. It doesn't need your bigoted approval to exist.

Real black culture doesn't exist in modern day America like that, I'd say stuff like Jazz, Blues, R&B, cookouts etc back in the day is real black culture, but it has taken a backseat to all this Americanised drill shit

The real black culture that is organic and fully black owned today is in Africa or the Caribbean/Afro-Latin world

Stuff like afrobeats, reggae, voodoo, santeria, afro-funk, samba, ampiano, capoeira aka shit that Black Americans make fun of for being too "foreign"

Thatโ€™s nonsense, modern black culture is just as real as old black culture, thatโ€™s like saying a modern Texas resident isnโ€™t apart of Texas culture because heโ€™s not fighting Comanches

I don't care if they are proud to be black when all they do is spread poison in the community in the form of music, it is nothing like the black music back in the day

I agree with the premise, but low key Iโ€™ve been straying away from hip hop over the past decade due to the degeneracy of the lyrics and nig nog culture

Like yeah you shouldnโ€™t take it literally, but listening to too much of โ€œshoot up niggas, get money, get pussyโ€ can indirectly affect your consciousness

I agree music is definitely art but we can say that art is also subjective

Also it is quite degenerate music which attracts degenerate people. The majority of them are flexing poems

And they do act like children. Snoop Dogg has a chain of Spongebob and that dude is in his 40s. This isn't just a recurring theme in one rapper; it's a recurring theme in the community

It doesn't take a genius to understand that if you're listening to this music, you're most likely going to be a degenerate. Listening to people being more successful, fucking the women that you want to be fucking, and making the money that you wish you'd be making is only going to either make you become narcissistic or depressed

Also there is no possible way of listening to degenerate music which can be positive on your soul or even on your ears

Who do you like that makes modern rap?

Tagging fellow black @Petsmart
Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Denzel Curry, Joey Bada$$ and Kanye

Millions of people use hip-hop as a tool for mental health, workouts, struggles . Like for example Tupac's Keep ya headup

Kendricks Alright

J. Coles Love Yourz

Are all literally about resilience, self love, and surviving poverty.

Also about snoop dogg he is a multi a brand he wears cartoonish jewelry because itโ€™s fun and it gets people talking. You didn't call Cavill childish for being a massive nerd who builds gaming PCs and obsesses over Warhammer 40k in his 40s.

Son, my point still stands.
Most of rap is degenerate, and thatโ€™s objectively so, - Eminem, xxxtantion or whatโ€™s his name -, all those people the mass listens too Is degenerate.
Rap is not equal to Melody-symphony of pure gold, itโ€™s just a savage copy.
I can understand some good rap, also like lil pep, but he was an superman in the rap community Iโ€™d say. Likely itโ€™s seen, cause even he promoted degeneracy objectively

You can criticize the toxic glorification without dismissing the whole genre Art has always has degenerate corners plenty in rock, metal, even classical too

I don't remember the names but I'm pretty sure there are classic music tracks that are degenerate also. Talking about opium, murder, execution, and demonic orgies
