The market decides the value of a house. For example if your house is worth 1million but you list it at 2 million. Nobody will bring an offer , the market will average the value due to supply and demand. The same things happens to people, even if you do through luck get someone out of your league there suitors will mog you and they will eventually leave for a better deal.
