Because men on television and in movies tend to be less attractive than women in television and movies. To be a male actor you have to be fairly decent looking and a great actor. To be a female actress you have to be extremely hot and a good actor.

Media doesn’t represent reality. On tv and movies the men are rarely as good looking as the women and hence have worse features. Irl it’s a lot more even.

If the hotness barrier were more fair, women in movies would either look a lot more pedestrian or you would see a lot more male models acting in films.

maybe since women's facial bones are lighter on average it's easier for them to keep their mouth shut and not resort to mouthbreathing. also men have relatively larger facial bones which makes downward growth more noticable.
