Messi is good because of change of pace and first touch mainly. It is basically impossible to dribble like that if you’re taller than about 5’10 because you won’t have the agility and acceleration. However shorter than 5’7 and you’ll just be bullied off the ball to begin with. So the 5’7-5’10 range is where pretty much all the best dribblers are, sure there’s a few crazy outliers but think of the best players on the ball in world right now and I’m thinking B.Silva, Sterling, Hazard, Messi, Salah amongst others. All those are in that height range, small enough for agility but not so small they are too easily bullied in possession
