Reasons why most people don't move to china:
- it's almost a dictatorship and you can't even browse the fucking web without facing restrictions
- it's poor compared to Europe
- it's polluted and air quality is beyond bad
- retarded practices and customs that are somehow still relevant
- weird looking humans, that is Chinese with poor genetics

If you want an actual answer based on facts instead then its simple.

They don't let people in. They're full with 1.4B people. I'm serious.

Its next to impossible for a foreigner to get permanent residence status in china, unless you are of Chinese decent. there are 2 things that come very close. One if you are married to a chinese citizen, or a close family member through marriage, you can qualify for a 2 year D visa, which allows you to work or study. as a full time foreign worker you need a certificate of being an expert in your field, and then you can qualify for a 1 or 2 year work (Z) visa. Doing a long term study program will allow you to get a 1 or 2 year study (X) visa. All of these can be revoked at any time, technically, so there is no such thing as permanent residence for foreigners.

In short theres no point being a Chinaboo. You can praise chairman Xi all year long but you're still not getting a Permanent ID especially not one in the cities that are actually good like Beijing or Shanghai.

People seem to think the entire world is open to immigration just because the west does it. Japan is supposed to be westernized yet they turn down 99% of applicants. I don't know this well but I remember someone saying even if you are born there, if you're not of japanese ancestry they might not consider you a japanese citizen. This I dunno if true
