I'm a music lover myself. I don't see the appeal of kpop at all. It's catchy, fun, but mass produced and overall shallow. Kendrick's recent album is what real production looks like while kpop music for the most part is the same stuff. I’m really into j-pop, k-pop, etc. Yeah, some vocals are really good— but k-pop is more innovative. And it has mainstream appeal, too, just the fact people are too “ashamed” to admit it, they’re basically the Justin Bieber and One Direction of the 2020s. Most-selling album of was a k-pop album. Self-produced rather than professionally-produced.
All the girls who are genuinely into kpop boys are either young teenagers (<16) or low estrogen ugly immature females, or self hating ethnics. Idk otherwise.
It can be an issue if you’re not into kpop yourself because they may expect you to play into certain kpop tropes, and if you don’t, they may lose interest. Either way, it’s a form of objectification and they don’t truly see you as your own being.
