Why people request ban?

Is it because they are addicted and need to be banned to not spend too much time here or is there any reason?

I'm lately been getting a bit bored with this forum but I don't see the reason why I would request a ban instead of just stopping using this forum.

Most everyone says addiction/wanting a dramatic exit, i think thats exactly right. Most people here, especially without a full time job or other things to keep them occupied, will be drawn back
