Proportions are the sign of a beautiful human, that's why so many painters made ugly humans small and wide with a big bead or people with long torsos and short legs because they look ogre.
When you see a short model from the torso and up it looks right but if he has short legs he will descend in just a second, if you see a human with good proportions you would think his/her face is pretty.
Also looking good at the mirror is everything, when the size of your head is not big or small or when your torso is not too big compared to the calves.
This is the only place where having a big head is considered law but is not true, it's only good if you're tall enough to pull it of.
