it's usually the nose bridge from profile and the part that connects the nose with the glabella that ends up looking uncanny

he’s right here, if your maxilla is recessed this has a big impact on the nose. “Fixing” the nose here will be a failed nosejob 99%

Usually because people get their tip too upturned or the overall size reduced too much.
There's nothing inherently wrong with small button-like noses (they're ideal actually) but they look best on, and are almost exclusively a result of, a very well-developed forward maxilla and wide bizygomatic so when you put that nose on a shit maxilla it looks incongruent and "off" to normies.
Also never listen to anyone who says a big nose isn't a huge flaw. If it really screws up your proportions you should get it fixed, just don't go overboard with it.
