Usually because people get their tip too upturned or the overall size reduced too much.

There's nothing inherently wrong with small button-like noses (they're ideal actually) but they look best on, and are almost exclusively a result of, a very well-developed forward maxilla and wide bizygomatic so when you put that nose on a shit maxilla it looks incongruent and "off" to normies.

Also never listen to anyone who says a big nose isn't a huge flaw. If it really screws up your proportions you should get it fixed, just don't go overboard with it.
