Why shouldn't one be self hating ?

I see people saying "stop being self hating" but they never give arguments on why you shouldnt be self hating
If your country is shit, bad quality of life compared to others,ugly people,etc why shouldnt you find it shitty
Why would you love something that handicaps you and make your life worse ?
