"why has social media not been enjoyable for the past year or more?"
answer is simple, it’s because there has been a sudden spike in hate.
it’s so easy for people to develop a superiority complex by hating on others.
this is why internet groups that share the same ideologies grow stronger day by day.
they grow and feed on hating others, to the point where you can’t even tell whether what you’re watching is actually funny or not.
if we go by their vision, they’re superior, higher-iq, and better than everyone else who is a normie.
despite all of them sharing the same point of view, they somehow still see themselves as superior to one another (which makes no sense).
- if your fandom is too popular: mainstream = mass normie appeal
- if your fandom is too niche: underground = trying too hard to be different
there truly is no winning unless the hate train goes in your favor.
