Why study history?

It may be interesting but learning about family lineages seems like a waste of time compared to any other academic subject where you can actually do something with the knowledge you acquire

History is completely worthless tbh. It's entertaining though.

To see how dumb humans are and to see how everyone is basically the same throughout history
 
Why don't you ask this in school, I used to ask every teacher: 'What's the point of studying math/history/geography/etc. when we have computers/wikipedia/google maps/etc.', and they would get very nervous and all the other students would laugh.

Why don't you ask this in school, I used to ask every teacher: 'What's the point of studying math/history/geography/etc. when we have computers/wikipedia/google maps/etc.', and they would get very nervous and all the other students would laugh.
Maths and history are like filter subjects basically, math is like food to a developing brain, it's purpose is to make you sharp and fast thinking. History is in a similar position, it is built to adapt people to critical thinking since a young age. Geography just because, not knowing where literal existing countries are is giga subhuman

Math is actually useful and required for many majors/jobs and other subjects at least

Not true history is very important for identifying who we are and where we come from
