Inflammation then calcification and fibrosis etc bring the DHT there to finish off hair follicles. It's why they have no real cure and DHT blockers most times only stop hair loss and give at most just a little regrowth to most users (sometimes not even that if Minox isn't used also). It's also why that real old man who fell into hot coals regrew his hair on his bald head because he injured it a lot just short of causing scar tissue but it cleared that out allowing hair to grow again.
