I need bimax for less than 10k. preferably 5-8k. I don't want to go to consults and then they just end up quoting me 20k or whatever. the local max fac here apparently does bimax for 6k but that guy is a fucking idiot. idk what to do. it's not as easy as going to poor countries either because I likely need at least some additional orthodontics and I'm probably not gonna get an orthodontist here to work with some dude in romania or whatever.

if I can't get this shit done then I literally have to permajut my lower jaw like a retard. idk what to do.

talking about europe specifically here btw.

A big problem that I've noticed is that doctors don't always call it Bimax. This is a general problem with surgeries of all kinds.
For example, we have a plastic/aesthetic surgeon here and instead of talking about "genioplasty", he calls it "chin correction", because I guess he assumes that normal people have no clue what "genioplasty" means.
I think it's similar with Bimax. Local No-name surgeons will offer "Corrective surgeries for the jaw" or whatever and simply don't call it Bimax, even though it is Bimax. I have noticed this quite a lot actually.

Because the procedure is meant for functional reasons and not aesthetics, that's why there's no info and prices available for your local surgeons. They simply don't market themselves and therefore don't need to list their prices to the public. Also your local maxfac probably performs 10 bimaxillary advancements a year and not 200+ like Alfaro, their prices are probably decided after your consultation and not like Alfaro where they already have a "price range".

Not many surgeons in general advertise their costs as in theory the level of work is different between each patient so they can't give a fixed figure. It also allows them to tailor the prices to you i.e. young student guy vs old wealthy rich dude.

Also a bimax is largely considered a functional/medical surgery. You don't see surgeons highlighting their lung surgery or kidney surgery fees on their website. It would just be seen as vulgar.

A side note is not to chase the cheapest surgeon , you only really have one shot at this and if things go wrong they go really wrong.

it would be yeah but I already had orthodontics and had this bullshit herbst appliance instead of surgery so nowadays I don't think I even fall into the category where you'd get costs covered even though my occlusion is still shit.

ima have to go back to my orthodontist and see what he says. he's kinda based despite all.

to be entitled to benefits from the insurance company. Things like genioplasty are considered an aesthetic surgeries that one pays for yourself.

So you must have a functional problem, like sleep apnea. They dont give a shit if you have overjet, narrow palate and so on.

well if your malocclusion is completely ogre then you'd get insurance to cover the costs here just based on that. but mine isn't "bad" enough at this point at least. it's complete fuckery.

Why not pay like 15K for a surgeon like Ramieri or Augusto Pary instead of 8k for some no name surgeon who doesn't even do CCW and only does linear advancements?

local unknown surgeons generally do for less than 10k here in germany from what i've gathered. got told 6k for local unknown max facs here. should be the same in other eu countries. there was a thread here about a 4 or 5k bimax at a state hospital in france that had a good result. I think only brand name type surgeons are expensive in europe. I'm at a little over 5k right now so I'll save some more and start consulting next year.

Is it price covered by insurance or not

depends on how fucked your bite is.

i have 4-5mm overjet and the official guidelines say at least 6mm for insurance coverage.

So 5k in top tier country for such a tough surgery to perform is insanely cheap

I guess but then again I still have to walk around jutting my lower jaw into the right position in order to not look like a retard because I'm 2mm away from getting insurance coverage
