Why the girls I date don't make eye contact with me?

I mean if they agree to be with me, make out, and do girlfriend stuff, why could it be that they seldom look at me at my face when we're together? It makes me feel like they don't find me attractive, though it doesnt make sense since they wouldnt want to date me in the first place. And its not because of money btw, we each pay half of everything we spend. Also some of them even tell me they find me good looking, yet when we're talking I look at them at their faces and they don't make eye contact 95% of the time. Its really discouraging and makes me feel bad.

I feel its the first thing: they dont like me that much. But then why are they with me, and most importantly, why did they approached me? Because I never initiated contact, it was them that started talking to me and then it led to us dating.

About how they call me, usually nicknames like honey, sweetie, baby. One of them calls me cutie. And I call them nicknames as well.

I'm really confused. And I dont dare to ask them something like "why dont you look at me at my face when we speak?" because I feel its degrading. Really makes me feel down how they do this and I want to know the reason.
