South/North America is about geography. Latin/non-latin america is about culture

I just went to South America and one thing I picked up on was that Latin American countries are much more different from each other culturally than the US versus Canada, maybe even the US versus Australia. Chileans sound pretty different than Mexicans when they’re speaking either Spanish or English. Also Dominicans and Cubans speak much faster.
