There isn't a difference in attractiveness between men and women. It's a bell-curve wherein most people will be in a middling position of attractiveness, and a few will be on either end of the extreme.

The only reason to believe that women are more attractive then men is because society and biology has largely placed a high premium on females to appear pretty and youthful, as that is how females have historically been able to obtain resources from males. Men, on the other hand, have had very little use to care about appearance as that isn't historically how most men were able to garner power, money, and success.

Women and men simply have different cultural and biological expectations pushed upon them, of which leads women toward caring about there appearance (As they believe that is what is valuable to men and society, and to compete against rival women.), and men to succeed in some external venture (As what is valued in men isn't usually who they are, but what they can provide in terms of status, money and power.). Although it should be noted that as women have garnered there own resources the shift toward men having to simply provide just there genetics (who they are) has put them in a very odd position, which is why this site is here in the first place.
