Alright so i've been noticing that this generation seems to be taller than genetically expected, especially those with very short parents. I've been doing a little research and I think I have an answer, but keep in mind this is a theory and not proven at all, so take it as you will.
Reason 1: Genetically Modified Foods
Pretty obvious but this generation has been consuming lots of genetically modified food which has synthetic IGF-1 and other growth factors. This can be found in milk (the low quality ones usually) certain candies, etc.
Reason 2: Sugar Intake
This generation obviously consumes more sugar which spikes insulin, and higher insulin leads to IGF-1 increase. I think this is why some diabetics are taller than expected, but I haven't fact checked this so don't take it literally
Reason 3: The obvious things
There are the obvious things like reduction in diseases, better "nutrition" (even if most things are just fortified) and genetic factors.
This is just a theory btw, lmk what you think
