If guns are banned, the people getting guns will be the ones that are willing to break the law - ie, the criminal, worst elements in society. The people who are willing to comply are not gonna have any guns. This makes them at risk to the unpredictable criminals in society.

If abortion is banned, the women getting abortions will be the ones willing to break the law - the criminals, again. So less babies with criminal DNA will be born, while the children with law-abiding DNA will survive.
