Why use recreational drugs?

Like I don’t get why you would even start drinking, smoking pot, or doing other things of that nature
I guess I’m 17 but for atleast now I’m totally against it and I see more and more people every day getting addicted to stuff, especially alcohol
I just can’t believe that there’s people who can’t have fun without drinking

When I’ve felt really sad in the past I’ve considered taking drugs just once to help me sleep and feel better. The problem is that it can spiral so easily.
