it’s because it’s tied to social freedom and possibility. Validation tells your brain that you can get away with anything and the world is your oyster. Without it, people clam up. Life becomes a prison, and people don’t feel like they can go for what they want. Having something feels good, but it’s just that one thing. Validation makes you feel like you could have everything. Nothing compares.

easily abused. society validates evil behavior. we need a structure in place to oppose relativism and attempts to coopt the moral signal

The whole point of validation is transcending that structure

It’s all about being uninhibited and only validation can get you there
 
can't speak on behalf of others, but i derive 0 pleasure from "winning" by breaking the rules. unless it qualifies as making new rules, that is. but that's almost never the case.

It’s about feeling that you can break the rules and still be accepted. Nothing worse than walking on eggshells.
