why volume eating can ruin the look of a small waist

people in bodybuilding often obsess over eating huge volumes of food, they want to feel full and hate the idea of being hungry so they build their diets around massive salads, mountains of vegetables and endless low calorie foods just to hit their calorie goals.

what most don’t realize is that eating for volume all day makes your stomach and intestines stretch every few hours, your digestive tract is elastic and designed to expand so it can handle a big meal, and when you never give it a real break you’ll pretty much always have food sitting inside, that’s why many notice that their waist looks tighter in the morning and gradually more distended by the evening.

this doesn’t mean you’re permanently stretching or “growing” your intestines, the tissue is flexible and goes back to baseline when you stop constantly feeding, but if your goal is a small tight waist you’ll still look wider throughout the day if you’re always stuffed.

a physique athlete who wants that classic small waist will usually have an easier time if they focus on calorie dense and nutrient rich foods instead of trying to fill their plate with sheer volume, think shit like cheese.

it’s worth noting that a wider midsection on stage isn’t usually caused by vegetables, oblique muscle growth from heavy lifting, visceral fat and in some cases drug use play a much bigger role, but day to day bloating from endless high volume meals can absolutely blur the look you’re chasing.


bottom line, if you want to keep a tighter waistline while still hitting your macros it pays to choose foods that deliver more calories per bite and to give your digestive system time to empty between meals.

Volume eating during calorie deficit

Normal eating once you are back to maintenance and reaping the results of your craft

You won’t look that good during the deficit anyways since you are depleted all of the time

Yeah overbulking one of the dumbest things I did and many others do. Also can end up giving you gut issues long term that arent as easy to resolve as just eating less especially if you are adding orals and tren. So many users/ex ped users with permanent gut issues.

its actually better. increases your upper waist (around the ribcage) and stomach width and volume while not increasing hips width at all = more V taper instead of unaesthetic X shape (cos of narrow waist and ribcage)
