I had a couple classes in Tango a few years ago and I found the vibe somewhat cold and distant compared to something seemingly 'more fun' like Salsa/Bachata and I preferrred that at the time.
I've found myself coming back on that opinion and liking this more cold/dead type of dancing that tango has where you don't even look at your dancing-partner. But at the same time the connection you have with your partner is incredibly strong and intimate.
