We live in a hyper competitive, hyper achievement oriented, hyper materialist society. The problem is that we get pushed this idea to us that ''everyone can succeed if you try hard enough''. No. Not everyone can succeed and that is okay just like not everyone can be a NHL level hockey player.

I believe that this is the main problem with redpillesque thought. The redpill fails to acknowledge the human limitations that befall each and everyone of us.

Also I think it is a good thing that not everyone succeeds in fields they want to succeed in because not everyone is endowed with the prerequisite characteristics that are required in certain fields.

i want it all tho

What if you want a simple life ?

Is that still too much to ask ?

True.
To make it really big, hard work, effort basically, is just one piece of the puzzle.
Innate talent and/or cognitive ability, which are immutable, is another piece of the puzzle.
And the last piece of the puzzle is simply luck, for example you see an opportunity noone else saw by sheer chance, were at the right place at the right time and met the right people etc.

Hard work alone will get you to a better position compared to before, but it's not enough to get you all the way.

Luck is the most brutal one. I know so many unremarkable people get success from being in the right place at the right time. Just that.

It’s like the universe just wants some people to be successful and others to be failures

Not at all. I think that's perfectly reasonable
Well even that is becoming unachievable sadly.

If you want to have a stable income, decent house and a family to raise, you need to be top 10% percentile

Yeah people often forget that you can get lucky at any point in your life. It's not like you can only get lucky at birth by being born rich, smart and good looking.

I’ve had my opportunities but I never capitalised on them.

I don’t think I’ll get any more 😢
