Especially since people have grown a bit taller these days... It's a bit strange

Literally look at celebheights, many of the actor celebs on the taller pages are almost always in black and white, from the "Golden Age of Hollywood"

John Wayne and Clint Eastwood, 6'4. Jimmy Stewart, 6'3. Gregory Peck, 6'2. Robert Mitchum, 6'1. Gary Cooper, 6'3. Cesar Romero, 6'3. Gene Hackman, 6'2. Cary Grant, 6'1. Clark Gable, 6'1. Henry Fonda, 6'1. Sidney Poitier, 6'3. John Gavin, 6'4. Clint Walker, 6'6.

You're probably right, this is the only thing I could really think of.
Most actors these days aren't even short, I'd say most are average-above average disregarding a few outliers such as Cruise, Downey Jr, etc. (Who are kinda notorious for being "short" even though they're not even *that* short)

Celebheights is the best source on the internet to check celebs true heights but is it accurate most of the time? He only meets up with some and has to predict most of the others.
