why wider jaw at lower bf

but why does it make it appear wider? wouldnt the fat ontop of jaw make it look wider and at lower bf appear less wide?

I thought like this:
If u have big zygos and u get lean, ur jaw will look narrower when u get lean since ur cheekbones have less fat on them than ur jaw which makes them reduce less in size compared to ur jaw area when u get lean
And if u have shit zygos then the opposite happens
I might be thinking wrong tho

my face looks wider than ever on low body fat around 17 now i thought i had oval face when i was fatter but now it's not

Because the fat is mainly above the jaw. So when you lose it whatever is below appears bigger

im asking why that is as i thought it would be the opposite (more fat makes jaw appear wider since obviusly more fat on jaw)

I think it’s because of the fat on hyoid bone

If you lose the fat over there it makes your face appear less rounder and in turn makes your jaw look wider
