It's to do with the relative aesthetic of body fat. When you are at a fluffy state, at around 20% body fat, losing 10 lbs will make a negligible difference. However if you lost 10 lbs at 15% body fat, the difference would be massive.
200 lbs:
190 lbs:
You can see some improvement, but it's not a massive difference.
180 lbs:
Same 10lbs lost but a much more substantial aesthetic improvement.
170lbs:
Now this is when things get bonkers. Remember, the difference between this body and 180lbs is still just 10lbs, but the aesthetics have vastly improved.
When losing weight the majority of your aesthetic improvement will be at the tail end of your cut, so don't give up too early because you aren't seeing noticeable results at first despite losing weight. The same applies to your face too, your jawline and cheekbones get exponentially sharper near the tail end of your cut.
