Height has strong correlation with diet that is true but it isn't expressed from father to son in one generation.

In simpler words if you are great grandfather and everyone before you had a good diet even if they himself didn't grow tall the changes accumulate over time and you as result grow tall. yeah, it allows for much faster adaptation. but also women in richer societies are less financially dependent on men so they select for taller (or overall more dimorphic) men. that has been proved to have had an effect on the height of dutch men for instance

I don't people have bad diets are an excuse these days. Height stunting happens because of lack of calories this has been proven you can eat greasy junk food still get more than enough calories and basic nutrients to reach their genetic height potential . Diet has greater affect on long term effects. Height getting stunted and starvation used to be a thing but modern medicine and diets have more or less eradicated it.

I don't people have bad diets are an excuse these days. Height stunting happens because of lack of calories this has been proven you can eat greasy junk food still get more than enough calories and basic nutrients to reach their genetic height potential . Diet has greater affect on long term effects
