depends on your insertions, if your insertions for your traps are shit and not aesthetic then yes developing them will be bad but with good insertions training them can make you look considerably better and more masculine specially since it thickens the neck too and increases the perception of jaw width

If you have a long neck, train them.

If your neck is short then don’t you’ll look weird.

Zyzz had long neck and his looked great.

damn rip, i have big traps from genetics however the insertions arent bad and it doesnt look big when i dont flex, something a little bit less than tristan tates traps when not flexing is fine.
