Width of your nose base and medial canthus.

Do you think the base of your nose at each side has to line up with medial canthus or it can be narrower or even slightly wider.
Is this ratio even important?

I think it's one of multiple useful indicators of facial harmony. Doesn't have to be perfect but it's not great to be 3-4mms+ off. Might indicate narrow IPD, large nose, or a bit of both.
