I literally know in my head, from looking at old pictures, like a google street view version of what my city looked like in the 1930s before modernism struck

my area had some of the biggest factories in the world at one point. it’s mostly gone now

What could have been is such a sad thought man. i mean there are so many cool places still, but so much has been lost to modernistic architecture specifically. Literally like look at a city such as istanbul or bagdhad in old videos of the 20s and look at it now, fucking night and day difference. I wish we could reverse the architecture i wish i could explore the world they way it was in the 30s

I'm guessing your german based off of ww2 destruction but it's not even ww2 thats the problem even though it sped things up, its just the modernistic architecture that has fucked everything over. Germany would have still been cooked either way, although to a lesser degree, just like every other country unfortunately.
