So about a year ago, I had to drop by the hospital/NGO where my nephew gets treated for leukemia. Obviously, I saw a ton of kids there dealing with all sorts of conditions, but that’s not the point of this post. The thing that absolutely blew my mind was this absolute GIANTS of a guy sitting in the waiting room.

He definitely wasn't a kid anymore, and I can't tell his exact age, but here's the kicker: Erdafitinib is a cancer drug, right? This guy was a cancer patient who probably took one of those FGFR inhibitors and straight-up grew three times more than he was supposed to. His mom was standing right next to him and she was tiny, like 5'5" (1.65m), while her son was easily 6'7"+ (2 meters+).

Where I live, it's pretty normal for kids to outgrow their parents due to better nutrition and stuff, but this was a total statistical anomaly. Completely off the charts. I didn't see any other patients like him there, since most of the crowd were just babies and toddlers around 5 years old.

cancer is weird, my father had brain cancer at 15 being 6'1 115lb and still grew to be 6'3 even on trt

Even though it seems like a 'cool' side effect, there are obvious reasons why they don't just hand this out to the public. The treatment is brutal and the whole situation is pretty heavy overall. Glad to hear your dad made it through and is doing well.
