depends on which retinoid you use. tretinoin is the best for you. start with 0.025% tretinoin twice a week or every third night for the first 2–4 weeks. over time increase the frequency to build tolerance and once your using it every night and your skin tolerates it go up to 0.05% tret. buy from alldaychemist or indiamart

also extern your skin isnt that bad if its really a retinol it is the weakest it is usually used after already having good skin the difference is not marginal it is huge between retinals retinoids and retinols just use it dont expect amazing results fast
otc you can get azelaic acid and differin 0.1 which is far better but obviously not as good as isotret, tazarotene or tretinoin

Try to look for 0.025% or 0.05% first to start off, you can get to 0.1% afterwards. If you start by 0.1% you might get the opposite result of what you’re trying to achieve, you’ll waste 3 months for nothing
