Will class 2 elastics fuck up my maxilla forward growth

I am 17 years old and have worn braces for a few years now. So my teeth now are perfectly aligned and have noticed no changes in my attractiveness( I was considered quite attractive as a kid) but my ortho said I still have a mild open and over bite and told me to wear elastics in a box shape to close the open bite and canine-molar to close the over bite.
My forward growth is pretty good and my cheekbones are prominent, the only issue is my chin of course which is a bit recessed due to the overbite. Will wearing elastics fuck up my forward growth? My ortho told me it should take 2-3 months to correct it, Idk if he's telling the truth honestly

No elastics are too gentle to do that

Depends on each person we wont be able to confirm without pics, but tbh my sister was supposed to have braces for 1.5 year they kept saying 1 more month till it ended up taking 2.3 years and then they still said 1 more month where she then opted out herself so u never know how accurate they are, either way elastics wont fuck u up
