Will facepulling / thumbpulling cause an overbite?

To me it seems that if you're still growing then it'll move your upper jaw over so your lower jaw can grow forward but also it could just leave your lower jaw in the same place making you look more recessed. Does anyone maybe have some progress pics from doing this?
 
absolute and utter cope lmaoooo.
theres devices litteraly doing lateral pulling on your face 24/7, with the force of 5 fingers.
that STILL doesnt cause excessive overbite.
