No. I know what you mean by "opening the bite", but it doesn't result in a longer lower third. Braces obviously don't affect the jaw, they move teeth.

yeah, that's pretty much what I thought. Although what about the extrustion that they sometimes do with braces work? That would surely legthen the lower third slightly since it's effectively mimicing you slightly opening your mouth (like when I bite on my inner cheeks and there's now a gap between my back teeth, my lower 3rd looks so much better)

I'm guessing the extrusion amount just wouldn't be noticable though...


And finally the slightly more aggresive option which I think not only involves extrusions, but also large crowns. Problem is that it costs about the same as jaw surgery lol

I was looking into some kind of camouflage fix. Obviously jaw surgery is ideal but the extreme expense combined with it being like a 2-3 year process with braces and shit is just not gonna happen.

I think I'd be happy enough with even a fairly minor imporvement. Possibly even with fillers which I plan to experiment with soon.

I've also been considering fillers, implants, sliding genio, chin wing osteotomy etc. Basically cope procedures that don't solve the actual problem, but they're still a significant improvement considering braces for 2 years are out of the question for me.

I'll probably get chin wing osteotomy. Not only is my lower third recessed and small, my chin also lacks width. It's brutal because almost every guy has a wide or square chin, even if they're recessed. Mine is pointy/rounded instead of wide/square. This can be fixed with chin osteotomy and it's probably going to make the biggest difference for me. Combined with jutting/opening which I already do I'm going to look more masculine.
I want to fix my deep bite so bad, but I just can't wear braces for that long.

This bullshit condition has been ruining my life since puberty. All the constant jutting, jaw opening, thinking about how my face looks when talking, it's a lot of stress and I'm tired of it. My deep bite and recession is the reason I never eat in public.

To top it all of I have a chubby face with big round cheeks even though I'm not fat. I'm currently at 15% bf and my face is still fat and at 18%+ my face looks obese and I'm not exaggerating. When combined with recession I look underage. The lack of bone mass, projection and size in my lower third is probably the main reason my face is fat, but I'll go down to 10% bf to see if anything changes.
Obviously when I jut and open my jaw as much as I can my face immediately slims out.

Det låter som en stor förändring för hans ålder om det är sant. Vad jag vet så är det svårt att få förändringar även med expanders som MSE i den åldern för suturerna fusar samman. De aestetiska förändringarna i ansiktet med MSE där man verkligen seperar upperkäken är minimal så jag begriper inte hur det skulle vara någon skillnad från mewing

Braces alone don't affect facial bone structure, braces can't add mass and lengthen bones.
