Will my insurance cover my possible Bimax?

I have short face syndrome, overbite. I do not have any issues with chewing eating or breathing. This is a jaw issue by the way not a teeth issue, so surgery is only the option. I have a meeting with an orthodontist this Tuesday. Why did I have to get this shit. Will my insurance most likely cover?

insurance will probably not cover and it will end up costing thousands of dollars if you get braces/invisalign

one option is to wait till you are older and just buy on your own money (assuming you dont have financial means rn) braces will still work at an older age

but if u dont wanna wait that long then idk

yes it should help unless its a really unusually case

u should plan for it to last approximately 6months to 2years+

if u think braces look bad i would opt for invisalign although invis is more expensive

I have the same exact problem and you need to get referred to a maxillofacial surgeon from your ortho. My ortho told me I shouldn't get a bimax but the surgeon said I would be a great candidatefor it. I have a deep bite and no functional problems only jaw recession. He said I might even be able to insured since he get talk to the ortho and make my bite seem more overjetted (5mm+ for insurance to cover.) But even if I do have to pay out of pocket he said the surgery wouldn't be more than 20k which is a good price for this type of surgery so as long as your aren't in a big city it shouldn't be more then 30k and you can finance it out
