Luhansk is about to be fully under Russian control this month, and Donetsk is also steadily going under their control. But what are they going to do after taking these 2 regions? Is there next move Mykolaiv and Odessa? Would be insane if they siege Odessa tbh, it has over a million inhabitants in it, would look like a ww2 colossal style battle

1. The US was supported by the whole western world and the rich gulf nations while Iraq was alone

2. They immediately used air superiority to destroy every defense in shock and awe

3. Iraq is a super divided country cause of the sunni/kurd/shia conflicts and a big chunk of the army just deserted and the kurds and shias acted as a 5th column

4. Lastly the US military is mucu better in conventional warfare then Russia and China. Russia and China are 2nd/3rd only technically, but if you would draw vertical columns representing military strenght, US would be much more powerful compared to Russia and China

Russians have a hard time capturing small villages in Donbass, why do you think they'd be able to take a huge city like Odessa? They have already tried to besiege Kharkov (a city with a similar number of inhabitants) and failed miserably

They aren't struggling, they captured Popasna the highest point in Donetsk and captured Severodonetsk this week in Luhansk. They are doing it slowly cause their military tactic revolves around artillery power, they bomb the whole place and then send in infantry, so it looks very slow but it is a steady progress.

They didn't put in effort to capture Kharkiv because it isn't a city in those 2 regions and it would be completely useless to waste to many resources on it.

But Odessa is something completely different, it is a much much more valuable city and it has a warm port, Russias current plan is definitely to capture the whole southern coast and make Ukraine a landlocked country
