i belive we are in a very very similar place to 1920s weimar germany with all the degernacy terrible economy in most countries and infact very very very similar in many ascpect

Unless things get bad in terms of material living standards, nothing will happen. People can withstand degeneracy if they have nice living standards. I also think social media serves as a pressure valve and stops people doing stuff in real life (by "stuff" I mean non-violent political activity)
