Will training abs make my waist larger because of obliques?

Should I just not train abs?
depends on bone structure and insertions and androgen receptors

small hips + trained waist looks good

wide hips + trained waist either helps mask the wide hips

or worsens the problem

From my experience I might be the last one, but not sure, I have some largish hips and I don't think my waist is that good aswell. I can kinda fraud if I flex abs upwards if that makes sense.

Here's a physique post I made.

But keep in mind I think my fat distributions hit heavy on the abs area, so that could play a role.
