At 13.5 I was 5’9 with a 6’4 wingspan. 7 inch ape index
Now I’m 15 and 6’1 with a 6’6 wingspan. 5 inch ape index.
Around 14.5 I was somewhere around 5’11 with a 6’5 wingspan.
My ape index peaked at 13.5 then dropped around an inch a year
This phenomenon comes from how growth plates close which is typically a distal to proximal pattern (distal means outer proximal means inner)
The usual pattern is hand and fingers stop first
Then elbow
Then foot
Then wrist
Then ankle
Later in adolescence major height producing bones such as the distal femur, proximal tibia and proximal femur begin to close
Along with pelvic growth centers
Then your spine matured until late teens/early adulthood, the last chance of vertical growth.
Then your pelvis fully matures along with your clavicles
Clavicles are one of the last bones to fully fuse with each clavicle roughly growing 10-20 mm from 15 to adulthood
