wisdom teeth removal

The orthodontist told me I need to have four wisdom teeth removed before getting braces because they're growing in incorrectly and could shift after treatment. I can't refuse, but many people say it reduces bone mass and leads to gum recession (I'm 16, by the way). I've attached a photo.
