The skincare brand Remescar conducted a survey of 2,197 Britons aged 18 and over on their preferences for a romantic or sexual partner.

When women were asked what they desired in a romantic partner, their top rated value was “a nice smile”, and third from top was “body type”. 70% of female respondents admitted that they would ignore or avoid an individual of the opposite sex solely because of the way they looked, versus 31% of men.

The magnitude of this sex difference is comparable with sex differences in attractiveness ratings (around d = 1.0).

People here will tell you men are just as shallow as women. Difference is women's "preferences" are prerequisites to even be considered not invisible. And a lot of their so called preferences are immutable for the most part. Women don't care you have a comic book superhero body, that's more like a bonus.

I've had people argue with me women and men are equally shallow. Men's preferences can be boiled down to not being the absolute bottom 5% or being a single mom, which instantly disqualifies women from dating(single moms are completely hopeless in romance).
