Most people have interests beyond what they openly talk about, even if they are low-inhib, there's a level of privacy and unwillingness to open up completely to randoms.
But the thing about social media culture today is that if it isn't something largely relatable and something worth posting about, people seem to feel ashamed of it. It's like they shun any remotely obscure or unrelatable interest that may develop because it cant be presented without some openness with any given person.
