There are XX chromosomes in women sex alleles. This means that she will express the dominant allele (assuming the dominant allele ensures highest survivability).
This means that Men are generally uglier than women, since they inherit their genetic lineage from their ancestral males. (The Y is passes from grandfather, to father, to son).
So a sons genes are not as random as the female genes. Another theory could be that women are essentially breeding cattle for the strongest/attractive male around to replicate his genome. This is probably true.
Another fun fact is. Men can create communities for their own genetic Lineage. As the Jews and Muslims do, and Christians used to do before isolating and nucleating their families.
Theoretically, Lexi, Rose, And Mary could be their 1st cousins to these boys, have a half-unique set of XX chromosomes from one generations up and produce viable babies (mostly). (this is how jews breed).
Not only does this ensure Male Lineage is passed, but also ensures that the community surrounding the passing of the male gene is conserved (this is basically what religion does).
