There is this propaganda floating around that women are up to twice more depressed than men.
This is obviously false and a poor attempt at making women into victims. Depression in women is very rare and can only occur in dire circumstances. The "depression" that women feel is just mere temporary sadness. It's nothing compared to how most men feel on the daily, ESPECIALLY involuntary celibate men.

Once again, the only studies that matter are studies of outcome, not opinion/feelings. Studies of outcome show males have a significantly higher rate of suicide than females. Women saying they're "depressed" is mostly to get attention, otherwise they would be offing themselves at the same rate. This also holds true in the methods used by each gender. Women almost always choose a method which is unlikely to actually end in death, like cutting across the wrist (across for attention, lengthwise for results) or using pills. Men use methods which almost are always successful such as gun shots, hanging, and carbon monoxide poisoning.

TLDR: women are depressed for attention, men actually kill themselves.
